Changing Assignee profile

Changing Assignee profile

We are seeing a trend appear that companies are more often relocating a more experienced, older Assignee who is accompanied by a spouse or partner, rather than the previous trend which saw the typical assignee as younger, single male. As the global business community is expanding we are witnessing Assignees being relocated over a broader spectrum of cities and countries. With technology, such as high speed rail networks and video networking, being in a central business district is not always paramount and therefore Assignees are being sent to a more diverse group of cities and countries.

A clear indicator of changing times in the business world is the fact that more women are relocating than ever before. This does not mean that fewer men are relocating, but it has been seen that companies are also now relocating female employees as well. This may mean that more females are taking a more senior role in an organisation, however the reasons for the rise are essentially unknown.

As highlighted previously the global network is expanding, resulting in many different cultures working closely together. For this reason, companies continue to recognise the importance of cross-cultural training which more assignees are taking advantage of to help benefit their working relationship across the globe.
